Medway Operations Depot

Hawden is proud to have delivered the Mechanical and Electrical building services design for Medway Council’s new Operations Depot in Rochester, Kent.

This modern two-storey facility was developed to provide a fit-for-purpose operational hub, supporting the Council’s day-to-day service delivery requirements while incorporating sustainable infrastructure to meet future needs. The scheme included extensive external works, landscaping, staff and operational vehicle parking, and dedicated electric vehicle charging facilities to support the transition to a lower-carbon fleet.

Appointed by The Bailey Partnership, Hawden provided M&E consultancy services through RIBA Stages 2–4, developing the building services design from concept through to technical design. Throughout the project, our engineering team worked closely with the wider design team to deliver a robust, practical and maintainable building services solution tailored to the operational requirements of the end user.

Successfully completed in 2022, the new depot provides Medway Council with a high-quality operational facility that supports both current service needs and future sustainability objectives.
